Johann Lattenbacher [sic], a brickmaker (Ziegelmacher), and his wife Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 21 July 1766 aboard a snow-brig named Mercurius under the command of Skipper Christian Heinrich Abelßen.
Johann Lattenbach, a mason (Maurer), and his wife Helena Maria settled in the Volga German colony of Dehler on 26 June 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 37.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Lattenbacher [sic] came from the German region of Bamberg. The 1767 census records that Johann Lattenbach came from the German village of Menning in Bayern (Bavaria).
There are no known surviving male lines of this Lattenbach family among the Volga German colonies.
