Lauer (Ober-Monjou)*
Ludwig Lauer and his wife Anna Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Franz Nikolaus Schröder.
Ludewig [sic] Lauer and his wife Anna Catharina are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Widower Ludwig Lauer, a hosier (Strumpfwirker), settled in the Volga German colony of Ober-Monjou on 3 August 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 95.
The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Pfaffenwiesbach.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Lauer family among the Volga German colonies.
