Lauterbach (Kraft)

Widower Heinrich Lauterbach, a farmer, and his children arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the barque named Fortitudo under the command of Skipper John Scott.

Heinrich remarried to Widow Margaretha Nünstill who was on the same ship arriving in Oranienbaum. They settled in the Volga German colony of Kraft on 18 August 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 6 with their combined families.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Heinrich Lauterbach came from the German region of Dienheim while the 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Burgsinn.
