Leichner (Balzer)
Johann Philipp Leichner, son of Johann Philipp & Catharina Leichner, was baptized 27 February 1727 in Haichen. He married in Lindheim on 13 November 1753 to Maria Margaretha Bauer, daughter of Jost Andreas Bauer. She had been baptized in Lindheim on 16 August 1723.
The baptisms of the children of Johann Philipp Leichner & Maria Margaretha Bauer are recorded in the parish register of Lindheim: (1) Anna Catharina, baptized 8 December 1754; (2) Johann Christian, baptized 12 June 1757; and (3) Johannes, baptized 19 October 1764.
Philipp Leichner, a farmer, his wife Maria Margaretha, and their children (Anna Katharina, age 16; Johann Christian, age 9; Johann, age 2) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the galliot Die Fortuna under the command of Skipper Peter Stahl.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Balzer on 18 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 censes in Household No. 54.
The 1798 census records several members of the Leichner family from Balzer living in the colony of Huck.
The Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Philipp Leichner came from the German village of Lindheim.
