Discussion & Documentation:

Johann Henrich Leicht from the area of Darmstadt & Anna Cunigunda Endress were married on 3 March 1766 in the Lutheran Church of Büdingen.

[Johann] Heinrich Leicht, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a galliot named Concordia under the command of Skipper Jakob Bauert.

They are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

Johann Heinrich settled in the Volga German colony of Krasnoyar on 20 July 1767 where Johann Heinrich is recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 7 along with his new wife Regina [Uhrich, daughter of Johannes Uhrich].

[Johann] Heinrich Leicht is recorded on the 1798 census of Krasnoyar in Household No. Ks024 along with a note that he is working in Kind and that his son Nikolaus is working in Schäfer.

Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Johann Heinrich Leicht came from the German region of Darmstadt. The 1767 census also records that Regina came from the German village of Mannheim in Kurpfalz.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
