Johann Conrad Lein, son of Nicolaus Lein, was born 24 August 1727 in Kirchbracht. He married in Kirchbracht on 8 October 1751 to Anna Barbara Pfister, daughter of Jacob Pfister. Anna Barbara Pfister had been born in Kirchbracht on 17 January 1728.
The baptisms of five children born to Johann Conrad Lein & Anna Barbara Pfister are recorded in Kirchbracht: (1) Anna Magdalena, baptized on 3 April 1752; (2) Lorenz, baptized on 21 January 1755; (3) Anna Elisabetha, baptized on 23 April 1758, died 20 May 1762; (4) Johann Heinrich, baptized on 29 November 1761; and (5) Johannes, baptized on 19 January 1766, died 5 March 1766.
Konrad Lein, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Anna, age 17; Lorenz, age 11) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard a Russian packet-boat under the command of Midshipman Mankensey.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Moor on 18 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 24. Oldest daughter, Anna Magdalena, had married Johann Peter Klaus, and they are recorded on the 1767 census of Moor in Household No. 21.
In 1792, Johann Peter Lein moved from Moor to Balzer.
The 1767 census records that Konrad Lein came from the German district of Isenburg.
