Leisel (Warenburg)
Markus Friedrich Leisel, son of Albrecht & Elisabetha Leisel, was born in Untertürkheim near Stuttgart on 14 July 1744 and baptized on 15 July 1744.
Friedrich Leisel, a single tailor, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 4 July 1766 aboard the ship Die Neue Fortuna under the command of Skipper Steingrawer.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Warenburg where he married Anna Christina née Hieb, widow of Heinrich Christian Eisner. They are recorded on the 1798 census of Warenburg in Household No. Wr058.
The death of Friedrich Leisel in 1806 is recorded on the 1811 census of Warenburg in Household No. 58.
Brothers Johann Michael Leisel, Johann Gottlieb Leisel, and Georg Ludwig Leisel, grandsons of Friedrich Leisel, and their families are recorded on the 1834 census of Warenburg in Household No. 74.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Friedrich Leisel came from the German region of Stuttgart.
