Arnolde Lestrade, an architect and knowledgeable about land cultivation (architecte et connaissant la culture des terres), age 56, and his son Sebastian, a plowman (laboureur), age 18, are recorded on a list of French colonists dated September 1764.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Franzosen on 28 July 1765. Arnolde Lestrade died there on 12 March 1767. Sebastian LeStrand [sic], a single farmer, is recorded on the 1767 census of Franzosen in Household No. 34.

The 1764 list of colonists records that Arnolde & Sebastian Lestrade came from the French village of Orléans. The 1767 census records that Sebastian LeStrand came from the French village of Orléans.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
