Johann[es] Lindner, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Gabriel Wild.

Johann Lindner and his wife Anna Maria are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Hölzel on 11 September 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No.28.

In 1788, Johannes Lindner and his family moved from Hölzel to Neu-Kolonie.

Widower Johannes Lindner from Hölzel, his son Wilhelm, and Wilhelm's family are recorded on the 1798 census of Neu-Kolonie in Household No. Nk22.

Johannes Lindner and his sons are recorded on the 1811 census of Neu-Kolonie in Household No. 20 along with a note that they relocated to the colony of Preuss in 1798.

The death of Johann[es] Lindner from Neu-Kolonie in 1811 is recorded on the 1811 census of Preuss in Household No. 28 along with his son Wilhelm and grandsons.

Wilhelm Lindner and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Preuss in Household No. 2.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Lindner came from the German region of Bernau while the 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Seinsheim [?] in the Bamberg region.
