Karl Lobinger, a clerk (Schreiber), his wife Anna Margaretha, and her son Franziscus [Scheitwahl] (age 5) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 8 August 1766 aboard the Danish galliot Engel Rafael under the command of Skipper Ehlert Kongsted.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 26 June 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 97.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Karl Lobinger came from the German town of Regensburg.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
