Karl Loos, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and children (Peter, age 8; Philipp, age 1) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 24 July 1766 aboard a barque named Georg under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.
Karl Loos, a miller (Müller), is recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 156 along with a new wife Katharina Margaretha Nulhass and a son Augustus [?] (age 8). They had arrived in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt on 3 August 1767.
Karl Loos (age 39), a farmer, his wife Katharina Margaretha née Nulhass (age 29), and children (Jost Peter, age 16; Nikolaus, age 4; Johanna Sophia, age 3) are recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 105 along with a note about the births of additional children (Johann Adam, born 3 January 1777; Maria Katharina, born 1778).
The 1767 census records that Karl Loos came from the German village of Springen in the Reinfeld Hessen region and that Katharina Margaretha Nulhass came from the German village of Weisel in the Pfalz region. The 1776 Katharinenstadt Land Register records that Karl Loos came from the German village of Springen in the region of Hessen-Reinfeld and that Katharina Margaretha née Nulhass came from the German village of Weisel in the Pfalz region.
