Widow Maria Lutz, wife of a craftsman (Handwerker), settled in the Volga German colony of Schäfer on 1 August 1766. She is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 44.

The 1767 census records that Maria Lutz came from the German town of Danzig.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Lutz family among the Volga German colonies.
