Mühlecker (Brabander)
There are two Mühlecker families that settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 19 August 1767.
They both arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard the galliot Adler under the Skipper Paul Adam Drath.Their relationship to each other, if any, needs further research.
(1) Peter Meliker [sic] and his wife Magdalena are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Peter Mühlecker and his wife Magdalena are recorded on the 1767 census of Brabander in Household No. 43.
(2) Johannes Mileker [sic] & Catharina Hengst were married on 20 May 1766 in Roßlau.
Johan Meliker [sic] and his wife Catharina are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Johann Mühlecker and his wife Katharina are recorded on the 1767 census of Brabander in Household No. 45.
The 1767 census records that they both came from the German village of Kicklingen in the Kurpfalz region.
Descendants of this family in North America today use the spelling of Molleker.
