Mahler (Anton)*
Valentin Mahler, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck on a boat under the command of Skipper Johann Hermann Anderson.
Valentin Müller [sic] is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Anton on 1 September 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 56 along with his new wife Anna Katharina.
Widower Valentin Mahler is recorded on the 1798 census of Anton in Household No. An52.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Valentin Mahler came from the German region of Gerweitz[?]. The 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Herschfelde in the Hessen region.
There are not believed to be any surviving male descendants of this family among the Volga German colonies.
