Discussion & Documentation

Anton März, a farmer, his wife Christina, and daughter Elisabeth (age 10½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 May 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Katharina Eleonora under the command of Skipper Peter Röder.

They settled in the Volga German colony of Leichtling on 14 May 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 32.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Anton März came from the German region of Ebing. The 1767 census records that he came from the German region of Regensburg.
