Discussion & Documentation

Widow Anna Meier arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard a ship named Die Zwei Gebrüder (The Two Brothers) under the command of Skipper Nicolaus Peter Pinck.

Elisabeth Meier is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

She is believed to have married Elias / Heinrich Mühr with whom she had arrived in Oranienbaum and with whom she is recorded being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov.

Heinrich [sic] Mühr, a blacksmith ISchmied], and his wife Anna are recorded on the 1767 census of Kaneau in Household No. 46. They had arrived in Kaneau on 3 August 1767.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Anna Meier came from the German region of Dessau.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Meier family among the Volga German colonies.
