Johannes Meier, a farmer, his wife Mara Elisabeth, and daughter Maria Magdalena (age ¼) are recorded on the 1767 census of Seelmann in Household No. 63. They had settled there on 16 August 1767.
The 1767 census records that Johannes Meier came from the German village of Birk.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Meier family among the Volga German colonies.
