Julius Meisterling and his family immigrated to Denmark (Schleswig-Holstein) in 1762.
The parish register of Grundorf [Denmark] records on 6 July 1762 the marriage of Julius Meisterlin [sic] to Maria Magdalena Henkem.
They deserted the Danish colonies in June 1763 and joined the migration to Russia.
The parents did not survive the journey, but several of their children settled in the Volga German colony of Messer.
The parish register of the Reformed Church of Saints Peter & Paul in Danzig records that Johann Christoph Meisterling from the Pfalz & Anna Maria Dorothea Schultz from the Pfalz were married on 2 June 1765 in Danzig.
Son Christoph is recorded in Messer on the 1767 census in Household No. 17 and daughter Maria Magdalena is recorded in Household No. 20.
The 1767 census records that the Meisterling family came from the German region of the Kurpfalz.
