Friedrich Metz, a farmer, his wife Maria Katharina, and son Johannes (age 12) settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 28 August 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 21.
The 1767 census records that Friedrich Metz came from the German village of Königshofen in Nassau.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Metz family among the Volga German colonies.
