The 1767 census records that Peter Metzinger was taken into the household of Kaspar Hiller, but does not record a relationship between the Metzger and Hiller families. [Some publications erroneously record his name as Kaspar Metzinger.]

There are no known surviving male lines of this Metzinger family among the Volga German colonies.
