Johann Heinrich Moritz, son of Johannes Moritz from Stärklos & Anna Margaretha Rüders from Sandlofs, was baptized on 8 May 1708. He was confirmed at the parish church in Kruspis in 1722.
Johann Heinrich Moritz married Anna Maria [surname unknown]. A daughter, Anna Eva Moritz, was born on 19 December 1739 in Stärklos [known as Sterckels at this time]. She was confirmed at the parish church in Kruspis in 1753.
Ann Eva was married on 7 May 1766 in Büdingen to Johann Wilhelm Becker from Ronshausen.
Johann Heinrich Mauritius [sic - the French spelling of Moritz], a farmer, and his wife Anna Maria arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 August 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Strelna under the command of Lieutenant Sornev along with their daughter Anna Eva and her husband Johann Wilhelm Becker.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Norka on 15 August 1767 where Johann Heinrich is recorded on the 1767 census with a new wife, Maria Sibilla, in Household No. 136. Anna Eva née Moritz and her new husband Johann Wilhelm Schreiber [see Schreiber family] are recorded in on the 1767 census of Norka in Household No. 135. Johann Wilhelm Schreiber, like her first husband, was also from Ronshausen.
Johann Heinrich Moritz is still alive when the 1775 Census of Norka is taken, living in Household No. 139 with the Schreiber family.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Moritz family among the Volga German colonies.
