Discussion & Documentation

Johann Müller, a weaver (Leineweber), and Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard an English barque named George under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.

Johannes Müller and his wife Catharina are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that Catharina died in route.

Johannes Müller, a linen weaver (Leineweber), and his [new] wife Katharina are recorded on the 1767 census of Paulskaya in Household No. 20. They had settled there on 7 June 1767.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Müller came from the German region of Isenburg. The 1767 census records that Johannes Müller came from the German village of Lauterbach.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Müller family among the Volga German colonies.
