Andreas Müller, a craftsman (Handwerker), settled in the Volga German colony of Schulz on 8 September 1766. He and his wife Anna Sophia are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 3 along with his stepchildren: Johann Heinrich Frei (age 15) and Eva Margaretha Frei (age 9).

The 1767 census records that Andreas Müller came from the German village of Birkheim near Leiningen.
