Johann Nikolaus and Margaretha arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 16 August 1766 aboard a snow-brig named Prinz Carl (Prince Carl) under the command of Skipper Christopher Losser.
Joh. Georg Nicolaus and his wife Margaretha are recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Johann Nikolaus, a tailor (Schneider), his wife Margaretha, and their son Franz Ludwig (1 week old) are recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Kaneau.
Widow Margaretha Nikolaus and her son Johann Bernhard Nikolaus (age 26) are recorded on the 1798 census of Näb in Household No. Nb37.
