Discussion & Documentation

Konrad [Wilhelm] Nimkner [Niemeer?], a single man, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.

Conr. Wilh. Nienieger is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

He settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt on 3 August 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 186 along with a note that he is working as a day-laborer (Lohnarbeiter).

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Konrad [Wilhelm] Nimkner was a farmer from the German region of Hannover. The 1767 census records that he was a baker (Bäcker) from the region of Hannover.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
