Nunius*
Philipp Nunius, a farmer, and his wife Anna arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on13 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Johann Grapp.
Johann Phillip Nonius [sic] and his wife Anna Eva are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Messer on 14 September 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 84.
In 1796, Peter Nunius moved from Messer to Warenburg.
Johann Peter Nunius from Messer and his wife are recorded on the 1798 census of Warenburg in Household No. Wr032.
The death of Johann Peter Nunius in 1832 is recorded on the 1834 census of Warenburg in Household No. 102.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Johann Philipp Nunius came from the German region of Darmstadt.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
