Philipp (Brabander)
Christoph Philipp, a farmer, his wife Barbara, and son Johann Georg (age 6) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the snow-brig named Christina under the command of Skipper Jacob Stappenberg.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Brabander on 21 June 1767. Widow Maria Barbara Philipp and son Johann Georg (age 8) are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 123.
The 1767 census records that Christoph Philipp came from the German village of Roth near Maltes in the region of Würzburg.
[It is possible that this son Johann Georg Philipp is recorded on the 1798 census of Warenburg in Household No. Wr035, although the family is recorded as Roman Catholic on the Oranienbaum passenger list and on the 1767 census, and the colony of Warenburg was inhabited by mostly Protestant colonists.]
