Johann [Adam] Prenzig, a weaver (Leineweber), his wife Anna, and children (Anna, age 11; Katharina, age 5) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the hooker Anna Katharina under the command of Skipper Adolph Scharpenberg.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Straub on 12 May 1767. Adam is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 15 along with his new wife Anna Maria, their son Johann Gottlieb (age ½), and stepdaughter Maria Magdalena [surname not recorded] (age 12).
The 1767 census records that Adam Prenzig came from the German village of Wunsiedel in the Bayreuth region.
