Philipp Brosius [sic], a farmer, his wife Magdalena, and sons (Christian, age 7; Johann, age 2¼) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 31 May 1766 aboard a galliot named Die Vergoldete Weintraube (The Gilded Grape) under the command of Skipper Joachim Hermann Andersen.
Philipp Prosius, a farmer, his wife Magdalena, and son Christian (age 9) are recorded on the 1767 census of Brabander in Household No. 100. They had settled there on 13 August 1767.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Philipp Brosius [sic] came from the German region of Mainz. The 1767 census records that Philipp Prosius came from the German village of Zinling [?] in the Kurpfalz region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
