Johann Nicolaus Ramberger, son of Casper & Anna Maria Ramberger married on 5 January 1739 in Wehrheim to Anna Maria Hall, daughter of Johannes Philipp & Anna Rosina Hall. They are recorded on the parish register as "vagabundorum," meaning that they were not from Wehrheim.

Johann [Nikolaus] Ramburger, a farmer, his wife Anna, and children (Elisabeth Margaretha, age 21; Elisabeth, age 16¼; Christina, age 13; Martin, age 8) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard the ship Mann und Frau under the command of Skipper Daniel Berg.
They settled in the Volga German colony of Preuss on 15 July 1767. Widow Anna Maria Ramburger and her children (Christina, age 14; Martin, age 8) are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 108 along with a note that husband Nikolaus had died there on 31 October 1767.
Son Martin and his family are recorded on the 1798 census of Preuss in Household No. Ps50.
Martin's death in 1831 is recorded on the 1834 census of Preuss in Household No. 42.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Johann Ramberger came from the German village of Bassenheim [this could be Bensheim, near Lorsch]. The 1767 census records that widow Anna Maria Ramburger came from the German village of Anderzo [?] in the Kurmainz region.
