Johann Ramsauer and his wife Margaretha arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Franz Nicolaus Schröder.

Johan Ramsauer and his wife Margaretha are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.

They are recorded on the 1767 census in a list of Beauregard recruits (No. 8) along with a note that they relocated to the Volga German colony of Bettinger in 1768.

The 1767 census records that Johann Ramsauer came from the German village of Ulzburg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
