Georg Rausch, a farmer, and his wife Magdalena settled in the Volga German colony of Beauregard on 27 August 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 14 along with his stepdaughter Anna Maria Wendebach (age 12).

The 1767 census records that Georg Rausch came from the German village of Westhausen.
