Jacob Rausch was born 23 July 1739 in Nieder-Kinzig, son of master carpenter Johann Adam Rausch and his wife Elisabeth (Weber).
Jakob Rausch, a farmer, and his wife Anna Katharina arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the galliot Die Perle under the command of Skipper Thomson.
Johann Jacob Rausch, his wife Cathrina, and son Nicolaus (born en route) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Jacob and his wife Catharina arrived in the colony of Frank on 1 September 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 Census in Household No. 89.
