Reich (Krasnoyar)*

Matthias Reich, a farmer, his wife Maria, and son Johann (age 2-weeks) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 18 June 1766 aboard the ship Mann und Frau under the command of Skipper Daniel Berg.

Mattias Zacharius Reich, his wife Maria Elisabeth, and son Johann Peter Emmanuel (age 2-weeks) are recorded on the 1767 census of Krasnoyar in Household No. 59. They had settled there on 20 July 1767.

In 1788, Zacharias Reich is living in Pokrovsk [Engels].

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Matthias Reich was a farmer. The 1767 census records that he was a Kattundrucker (an ancient classification for someone who printed on cotton cloth, most likely by hand, using designs carved on wooden blocks).

The 1767 census records that Matthias Zacharius Reich came from the German region of Nürnberg.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Reich family among the Volga German colonies.
