Discussion & Documentation:

Johann Christian Reinhardt, a miller (Müller), settled in the Volga German colony of Katharinenstadt on 27 August 1766. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 116 along with his new wife Elisabeth, their 6-month-old son Gottfried, and his stepdaughter Elisabeth (age 6) [surname not recorded].

The 1767 census records that Johann Christian Reinhardt came from the German village of Wiege [?]. [This family is recorded with others from villages in France, so perhaps this is Vichy in France.]

There are no known surviving male lines of this Reinhardt family among the Volga German colonies.
