Reser

There are two Reser families that settled in the Volga German colony of Pfeifer on 20 August 1767. Both had arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 13 September 1766 aboard the hooker Die Jungfer Dietrika under the command of Skipper Christian Korsholm. Their relationship to each other is recorded on neither the Oranienabum passenger list nor the 1767 census.

(1) Nikolaus Reser, a farmer, his wife Ursula, and children (Katharina, age 12; Johann, age 7; Adam, age 4) arrived in Oranienbaum.

Nicolas Röser, his wife Anna Ursula, and children (Anna Catrina, age 12; Johannes, age 7; Johann Adam, age 4) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that Johann Adam died en route.

They are recorded on the 1767 census of Pfeifer in Household No. 69. Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Nikolaus Reser came from the German region of Würzburg.

(2) Widow Kunigunda Reser, a farmer's wife, and her children (Johann Georg, age 17½; and Eva, age 8) arrived in Oranienbaum - recorded immediately after Nikolaus.

They are recorded on the 1767 census of Pfeifer in Household No. 99 where Kunigunda had remarried to Johannes Mallad. Her children are also recorded there, although their surname is not recorded.

The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Kunigunda Reser came from the German region of Würzburg.
