Gottfried Richter is recorded on the 1798 census of Zürich in Household No. Zr23. Researcher Andreas Raith believes that he may be recorded on a list of Beauregard recruits that is attached to the 1767 census No. 16 as Friedrich Richter, because there are several other Zürich families recorded on this list in close proximity to this Friedrich Richter.
Andreas Raith further reports that the Gottfried Richter in question may be the Gottfried Richter who arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 15 September 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Gabriel Wild, because other Zürich families are also aboard this vessel.
The Friedrich Richter recorded on the 1767 census came from the German village of Görlitz in Sachsen (Saxony).
There are no known surviving male lines of this Richter family among the Volga German colonies.
