Discussion & Documentation

Kaspar Rische, his wife Christina, and children (Christoph, age 12; Katharina, age 10; Margaretha, age 1½) settled in the Volga German colony of Mariental.

Kaspar died and his widow remarried to Jakob Müller.  She and the Rische children are recorded with the Müller family on the 1767 census of Mariental in Household No. 82.

The 1767 census records that son Christoph Rische came from the village of Busendorf in France.

Some translations record this surname as Reisch and Risch.
