Anton Rittmann, a craftsman (Handwerker), and his wife Maria Elisabeth settled in the Volga German colony of Mariental on 14 June 1766. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 49.
The 1767 census records that Anton Rittmann came from the German region of Ochsenhausen.
