Rockenschuh
Johann[es] Rockenschuh, a farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 May 1766 aboard the Russian galliot Katharina Eleonora under the command of Skipper Peter Röder.
He settled in the Volga German colony of Hildmann on 18 August 1767. He is recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 29 along with his new wife Maria Eva, [widow of Georg Dietz], and her children (Bernhard Dietz, age 20; Hans Georg [Adam] Dietz, age 15; Hans Kaspar Dietz , age 13).
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that Johannes Rockenschuh came from the German region of Bamberg.
