Martin Röhrig, a single farmer, arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 9 June 1766 aboard an English barque named George under the command of Skipper Adam Bairnsfair.
Martin Röhrig is recorded on a list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
He married Sophia, widow of Theobald Schade, and they settled in the Volga German colony of Paulskaya on 7 July 1767. The combined Röhrig / Schade family is recorded on the 1767 census of Paulskaya in Household No. 30.
In 1795, Johann Adam Röhrig moved from Paulskaya to Kaneau.
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that Martin Röhrig came from the German region of Nimek [?] while the 1767 census records that he came from the German village of Werbach.
