Johannes Romeis, servant in the castle in Gersfeld, son of Georg Romeis in Kippelbach, was born 30 March 1715 in Kippelbach.  He married 28 June 1748 in Gersfeld to Anna Heun, daughter of Peter Heun (born 29 November 1717 in Kippelbach).

Johannes Romeis, his wife, and two children immigrated to Russia, arrving from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 14 September 1766 aboard a ship under the comand of skipper Reders.

Hanss Romeyss [sic], his wife Anna, and children (Peter, age 18; Anna, age 11) are recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767 along with a note that both parents died en route.

Daughter Anna arrived in the Volga German colony of Frank on 1 September 1767 and is recorded there on the 1767 census living with Georg Zitzmann in Household No. 110.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
