Discussion & Documentation

An article by Hermann Wäschke records the following going to Russia:

Andreas Rönecke (Reinecke) [sic] (p.90) Rönicke (Reinigke) [sic] (p.91), a linen weaver (Leineweber) from Wörlitz, who had taken over his father's house in Kälberhaynicht while his father was still alive, but he still had not paid anything for it.

A list of Andreas Rönecke's debts recorded in Wörlitz in 1766 indicates that he was born in Wörlitz.

Andreas Reinicke [sic], a weaver, his wife Albertina, and daughter Dorothea (age 3) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 10 August 1766 aboard a ship under the command of Skipper Nikolaus Peter Pink.

Andreas Rönke, a carpenter (Zimmermann), and his wife Louise settled in the Volga German village of Boisroux on 7 June 1767. They are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 72.

For some reason, this name morphed into Roth. Widow Louise Roth née Wolf and her son Gottlieb are recorded on the 1798 census of Boisroux in Household No. Bx14.

Gottlieb Roth and his family are recorded on the 1834 census of Boisroux in Household No. 22.

The death of Gottlieb Roth in 1849 is recorded on the 1850 census of Boisroux in Household No. 26.

The Oranienbaum passenger records that Andreas Reinicke [sic] came from the German region of Dessau. The 1767 census records that Andreas Rönke came from the German village of Oranienbaum in the Dessau region.
