Roth (Balzer)
Valentin Roth married Catharina Neidhardt, daughter of Jost Neidhardt. She had been born 13 June 1728 in Hüttengesäß.
Conrad Roth, son of Valentin Roth & Catharina Neidhardt, was baptized 22 March 1747 in Hüttengesäß.
Valentin Roth, a farmer, his wife Katharina, and son Konrad (age 20) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 19 July 1766 aboard the galliot named Kronshlot under the command of Skipper Ivan Kunakovskii.
His widow and son Konrad settled in the Volga German colony of Balzer on 18 June 1767 where they are recorded on the 1767 census in Household No. 46 along with Konrad's [new] wife Elisabeth.
Both the Oranienbaum passenger list and the 1767 census record that this Roth family came from the German region of Isenburg.
