Sebastian Roth, a turner (Tischler) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 20 August 1766 aboard a ship named Der Friede (Peace) under the command of Skipper Hans Karck.
Sebastian Roth is recorded on the list of colonists being transported from St. Petersburg to Saratov in 1767.
Widower Sebastian Roth is recorded on an appendix to the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 46.
Johannes Roth is recorded on the 1776 Katharinenstadt Grundbuch [Land Register] in Household No. 25 (as the spouse of the widow Christina Maria Knoll née Erfurt) along with their daughter Christina Katharina who had been born 15 June 1779.
In 1778, Johann Roth and his family moved from Katharinenstadt to Moscow.
The 1767 census records that Sebastian Roth came from the German village of Neuß in the Mainz region.
There are no known surviving male lines of this Roth family among the Volga German colonies.
