Frantz David Roth from Abendtheur & Anna Eleonora Möbus from Büdingen were married 5 June 1766 in Büdingen.
David Roth, a farmer, his wife Eleonora, and son Johann Michael (age 5½) arrived from Lübeck at the port of Oranienbaum on 29 July 1766 aboard a ship named Apollo under the command of Skipper Friedrich Detloff Mörenberg.
David Roth, a farmer, his wife Lora [sic], and sons (Johann Michael, age 6; Johann Philipp, age 6-weeks) are recorded on the 1767 census of Kraft in Household No. 52. They had arrived in Kraft on 18 August 1767.
This Johann Michael is believed to be Johann Michael Guttmann. [See Guttmann Family.]
The Oranienbaum passenger list records that David Roth came from the German region of Zweibrücken. Both the Büdingen marriage register and the 1767 census record that David Roth is from the German village of Abentheuer.
