Samuel Rothfeld (age 39), a farmer, his wife Anna Maria Hahn (age 28), and daughter Anna Elisabeth (age 12) are recorded on the 1767 census of Katharinenstadt in Household No. 6. They had arrived in Katharinenstadt on 27 August 1766.

The 1776 Katharinenstadt census records (in Household No. 6):

Samuel Rotfeld (age 42), a farmer (Ackermann)
wife: Anna Katharina Hahn (age 22)
daughters: Johanna Sophia Kunigunda (age 1; born in Katharinenstadt); Johanna Lorija [sic] (born 22 September [year not recorded] in Katharinenstadt)

The 1767 census records that Samuel Rothfeld came from the German village of Kropstädt in Sachsen (Saxony) and that Anna Maria Hahn came from the German village of Grabau also in Sachsen (Saxony). The 1776 Katharinenstadt Land Register records that Samuel Rotfeld was born in Kropstädt in Sachsen (Saxony) and that Anna Katharina Hahn was born in Grabau in Sachsen (Saxony).

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
