Johann Georg Rowetter and his wife Anna Rebekka settled in the Volga German colony of Kratzke on 8 July 1767 and are recorded there on the 1767 census in Household No. 41.

The 1767 census records that Johann Georg Rowetter came from the German village of Nortorf in the Holstein region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this family among the Volga German colonies.
