Sebastian Rückert, a farmer, his wife Margaretha, and daughter Katharina (age 1) are recorded on the 1767 census of Preuss in Household No. 4. They had settled there on 12 May 1767.

The 1767 census records that Sebastian Rückert came from the German village of Algesheim in the Kurmainz region.

There are no known surviving male lines of this Rückert family among the Volga German colonies.
