Peter Runk was born in approximately 1792. He served in Napoleon's army and fought against the Russians. He was captured by the Russians, and in 1812, was settled in the Volga German colony of Schäfer.

Peter Runk is recorded on the 1834 census of Schäfer in Household No. 70 along with a note that he relocated to the colony of Susannental in 1819.

Peter Runk from Schäfer is recorded on the 1834 census of Susannental in Household No. 70 and on the 1857 census of Susannental in Household No. 46.
